- 28 June 1971 Born to engineer father and mother
- age 3 Drifts off as if deaf(he was not)so parents get his adenoids removed
- reads 10 hours a day
- learns BASIC by finishing a 6-month course in 3 days
- age 12 writes video game Blastar, sells it for $500
- decides on his life mission - to save humanity
- age 17 moves to Canada
- transfers to Upenn double majoring in physics and economics
- get Wharton economics degree(and later physics degree)
- works 2 intern jobs:in ultracapacitor research and video games
- leaves Stanford Phd after 2 days
- 1995 starts Zip2 with brother, coding it himself
- Gets $22million from sale of Zip2
- May 1999 starts X.com, an online bank
- 2000 merges with Confinity(competitor) to form Paypal
- gets kicked out from PayPal(while on honeymoon)
- learns how to build rockets from reading books
- Jun 2002 Starts SpaceX with own money
- son dies from SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome) 10 weeks later
- gets $250m from sale of PayPal
